With uninterrupted views of the Waterberg Plateau, the Cheetah View Lodge is the ideal setting for travelers who want to witness a world-class conservation facility at work. Each tent has solar lighting and private bathrooms appointed with towels, toiletries, bucket showers, and washbasins. For chilly nights, find hot water bottles and extra blankets. The patios with chairs offer spectacular views.

With a prime beachfront location, the classy Strand Hotel is the perfect base for town exploration. Built in a naturally formed amphitheater of a south-facing granite outcrop, this semi-permanent camp has eight comfortable tents, including two family units - all protected from the desert climate by natural stone walls and roofs built from recycled oil drums. Perez grew up in Gobabis in northeastern Namibia and has been guiding in the country for 20 years. Spending time out in a wild and remote part of Namibia allowed Perez to develop a passion for nature and the stunningly beautiful Namib Desert, and he loves to share his great knowledge of the natural world with guests on MT Sobek’s adventures in Namibia. Raised in the desert settlement of Uis, surrounded by the surreal landscapes of the Namib Desert, Alpha was born to become a nature guide. Yes, however, citizens of the USA do not need to obtain a Namibian visa in advance and may obtain one on arrival.

Is this trip a good choice for solo travelers?

Yes. We have chosen these particular camps for solo travelers, as they have relatively low single supplements and they encourage communal dining. Joining a small group trip is an excellent way to explore the country by road as a solo traveler.

Do I need vaccinations or malaria tablets?

We always recommend you speak to your doctor or a health professional about vaccinations and malaria tablets well in advance of your safari. Currently, certain areas of Namibia are affected by malaria.

Can I book pre and/or post safari accommodation?

Yes, please contact your Adventure Coordinator who will be able to book those for you.

When is the best time to visit Namibia?

Namibia receives a fraction of the rain experienced by countries further east. Between December and March, days can be humid and rain may follow often in localized, afternoon thunderstorms. Wildlife viewing is best in the Dry season from June to October.

Are tour dates flexible?

Yes, please contact us if you are not able to travel on the dates listed. Most safaris can be arranged on alternative dates for a minimum of one traveler as long as camps/lodges are available.

Does this trip contribute to any local conservation efforts?

Yes! Each group visits the Cheetah Conservation Fund to learn about projects developed to support cheetah populations and ecosystem.
